He told reporters that Hungary had not sent weapons before “and will not do so after this.”

“And we are not ready to participate in any decision or process that will lead to an increase in arms supplies to Ukraine,” RIA Novosti quotes the minister.

Szijjártó noted that Hungary would have to pay 23 billion forints (€60 million) a year into the general fund for other countries to send weapons to Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal previously wrote that the EU is considering the possibility of creating an off-budget fund for military assistance to Ukraine to circumvent the veto imposed by Hungary.

As Szijjártó previously stated, there are Hungarians who are dying in the Ukrainian conflict, since there is a large Hungarian community in Ukraine, whose members are recruited into the Ukrainian army and sent to the front.
