The IT attack against Tietoevry has affected several of the company's customers.

Including Region Uppsala, which as a result of the attack was forced to switch to a backup system.

Above all, it is new patient registrations, payments and orders that are affected.

- We have gone into staff mode and are taking it day by day, says Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care.

"Maybe months"

So far, the region - which has reported the attack to the police and reported it to the Privacy Protection Authority (IMY) - has not seen any impact on patient safety.

He cannot say how long the IT system will be affected, but looks towards the attack that the Church of Sweden suffered in November - and which still has disturbances.

- This could affect us for weeks, maybe months, says Mikael Köhler.
