As stated in the department's statement, a resident of Chelyabinsk contacted the Investigative Committee, accusing health workers of intrauterine fetal death “due to untimely measures taken for delivery.”
In the regional branch of the Investigative Committee, this case is being investigated under Part 2 of Art.
293 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
“On instructions from the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia... a report will be presented on the progress of the investigation and pre-established circumstances,” the statement says.
In May 2023, Bastrykin ordered a report on the progress of the investigation into complaints about the maternity hospital in Bataysk.
