In the Södertälje area, two new cubs have been born.

The County Administrative Board inventories the lynx in the county using tracks, cameras and via the Scandobs app where the public can submit tips.

- We have a month left on the inventory, but I think we can see some growth, says Mikael Fransson, game manager at the County Administrative Board.

So far, five families have been found in the county.

According to preliminary figures from this year's inventory, there are around 30 lynxes in Stockholm County, which is an increase of three lynxes compared to 2023.

The most common causes of death for lynxes include starvation, illegal hunting and traffic.

This year, there have also been more deer around Stockholm, which may be one of the explanations why the lynx seem to have done better.
