The Kyoto City mayoral election due to the expiration of the term of office will be announced on the 21st.

Due to the retirement of the incumbent, it is expected that this will be the first time in 16 years that the competition will be between newcomers.

Those who have announced their candidacy for the Kyoto mayoral election so far and have completed the preliminary procedures with the election management committee are all independent newcomers:

Candidates for the Kyoto City mayoral election will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After a 14-day campaign, voting will take place on the 4th of next month, and the votes will be counted on the same day.
