It is not possible to buy cinema tickets at Filmstaden anywhere in Sweden.

This is because Filmstaden's IT supplier Tietoevry's Swedish data center was hit by a ransomware attack.

At Hötorget in Stockholm, 12-year-old Noomi and her family had planned to watch a film at Filmstaden Sergel.

But that did not happen.

- They said they shut everything down so we couldn't see the cinema, Noomi says.

No popcorn for the cinema

For Filmstaden, the hacker attack means that it is not possible to buy tickets, soft drinks, snacks or sweets.

Usually visitors are not allowed to bring their own drinks or snacks, but today it's okay.

Those who have not already bought tickets will simply have to ignore the Saturday cinema.

The problems also include Svenska Bio's cinemas, but with them there is the option to pay with Swish.

- We have not received information about the forecast.

But we hope for a solution as soon as possible, says Malin Lazar, press contact at Filmstaden, to TT.

Rusta and Granngården affected

More customers than Filmstaden are affected, two of them are Rusta and Granngården.

At Rusta, e-commerce is down, while Granngården keeps all stores closed due to the attack, as the checkout system is down.

Tietoevry writes in an email to TT that it cannot give any comments about the attack at the moment.

"All efforts right now are focused on investigating and mitigating the effects," the company writes in an email to TT.
