Fatal shooting on the set of the film “Rust”: Alec Baldwin again charged with manslaughter

New legal twist for actor Alec Baldwin.

On October 21, 2021 in Santa Fe, he was the author of a fatal shooting which resulted in the death of Halyna Hutchins, photographer on the set of the film “Rust”.

The charges against him had been dropped, but a new examination of the weapon relaunched the case.

The actor is therefore again charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Nine months after the abandonment of legal proceedings, back to square one for the American actor.

Many prosecutors have had the case in hand and one question remains: how could the gun that Alec Baldwin was holding in his hand have gone off?

The actor denies pulling the trigger, but after reconstructing the gun that had been broken during FBI testing, two special prosecutors concluded that the gun's trigger must have been pulled to fire.

Sufficient theory to relaunch a new indictment for intentional homicide, even if in her press release, the prosecutor in charge of the case does not explain her decision.

The trial of gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, also accused of manslaughter, will begin on February 21.

In the initial investigation, the police concluded that it was she who had put a real bullet in the gun - instead of a blank bullet, the custom on film sets.

Alec Baldwin, who has maintained his innocence from the start, faces eighteen months in prison.
