A five-year-old girl died this morning in a fire in a house located on

Pintor Joan de Joanes street

in the municipality of

Gandía

in an event in which nine people were injured, four of them minors.

Firefighters from the Valencia Provincial Consortium intervened in the fire and extinguished the fire that mainly affected a bedroom.

It was there that the troops located the lifeless body of the girl.

According to sources from the

Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU),

at 12:30 p.m. a notice came in alerting of a fire in a building in Gandia that was causing a lot of smoke.

Two units from the Urgent Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) and two from Basic Life Support (BLS) have traveled to the area and treated a 41-year-old woman for an anxiety attack;

a 24-year-old man from smoke inhalation;

a 23-year-old woman due to burns;

an 8-year-old child due to smoke inhalation and another under 22 months due to burns.

All have been transferred to the

San Francesc de Borja

de Gandía Hospital.

At the same time, the SAMU has certified the death of the 5-year-old girl who was in the most affected room.

As a result of the fire, several people with various injuries have also been treated: a 40-year-old woman, a 47-year-old man, a 3-year-old girl and a baby.

The four have also been transferred to the San Francesc de Borja de Gandía hospital.

Three fire crews from Gandía and Oliva, a sergeant from the Gandía park and an official have participated in the work.
