The third vice president of the Government,

Teresa Ribera

, said this Friday that the actions of Judge Manuel García-Castellón "have an important political implication and usually come up at sensitive moments", after he insisted on charging the former Catalan president with terrorism. Carles Puigdemont.

The minister made these statements in an interview on TVE reported by EFE, after the judge of the National Court reaffirmed his thesis that

the Supreme Court should investigate Puigdemont

for crimes of terrorism in the case opened regarding the Democratic Tsunami platform.

"There are some people (...) who have a certain fondness for always speaking in the same direction and at a particularly opportune moment compared to what tend to be the statements of other colleagues within the exercise of judicial power," he noted.

The vice president has preferred to be "very cautious" regarding the way in which "this judge is speaking" who, in her opinion, "has accustomed us to always" leaning in the same direction.

"Evidently it has an important political implication and usually comes up at sensitive times," he added.

To the question of whether he believes that Judge García Castellón can be guided by political criteria, he answered: "the newspaper archive shows that he is always very correct in the dates and in the sensitivity of the dates."
