In total, 15 staff members were affected and 33 patients passed through the emergency department between 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and 7:00 a.m. on Friday.
- All patients and staff remained at the reception because later they were informed that the smell was not dangerous, says Anette Gjers, head of the care unit at the emergency department.
Opened doors and windows
According to Anette Gjers, the staff tried to tape up plastic and seal, but it was difficult.
They also opened doors and windows as much as possible to try to ventilate.
- The smell subsided around 12 o'clock on Friday, she says.
