Beijing, January 1 (Reporter Li Xiaoqing) The reporter learned from the 15 work conference of the South-to-North Water Diversion Group that the first phase of the East Central Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project will transfer 2024.2023 billion cubic meters of water in 85, exceeding the annual water diversion task.

Among them, a total of 74.1 billion cubic meters of water has been diverted from the central route, 112 percent of the annual plan has been completed, 8 million cubic meters of water has been diverted from the eastern route to Shandong, 5 percent of the annual plan, and 100 million cubic meters of water has been diverted north of the Yellow River by the northern extension project of the eastern route, which has been completed 2 percent of the annual plan. The water quality of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has been stable throughout the year, with nearly 77% of the water quality standards of the middle trunk line being Class I, and the water quality of the eastern route being stable above the surface water quality Class III standard. 102 million cubic meters of ecological water replenishment has been implemented, helping the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to achieve the full flow of water for two consecutive years in the past 90 years, and promoting the improvement of the ecological environment of rivers and lakes in the Huang-Huai-Hai Basin.

In 2023, the South-to-North Water Diversion Group will accelerate the planning and construction of follow-up projects.
