Chinanews.com, Beijing, January 1 (Xinhua) -- On January 15, local time, the opening ceremony of the Tunisian International Diplomatic University was held, and President Saied personally unveiled the Foreign Affairs Academy.

Wang Yi said that he was very happy to visit Tunisia again after eight years. Eight years ago, China and Tunisia reached a consensus on the construction of the Tunisian International Diplomatic College. Eight years later, with the joint efforts of both sides, the institute has turned from a blueprint into a reality and has become the only diplomatic academy built with China's assistance in an Arab country, demonstrating the high level and quality of China-Tunisia relations, and will also become a new symbol and platform for China-Tunisia friendship, renewing and promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Wang Yi said that the visit coincided with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tunisia. Sixty years ago, when China and Tunisia had not yet established diplomatic relations, Premier Zhou Enlai was invited to visit Tunisia. On the second day of the visit, the two countries officially announced the establishment of diplomatic relations, which became a good story in the history of international exchanges. Over the past 60 years, China-Tunisia relations have been developing in a healthy and stable manner, and the two sides firmly support each other's efforts to safeguard independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and firmly support each other's chosen development paths, demonstrating the "great friendship" between the two countries with concrete actions. Over the past 60 years, China-Tunisia practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and a large number of high-quality projects benefiting people's livelihood have been successfully implemented. Over the past 60 years, the two sides have maintained close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, and worked together to safeguard common interests and international fairness and justice.

Wang Yi stressed that the international situation is chaotic and intertwined, and the changes in a century are accelerating. What kind of world do we need? What kind of future should mankind open up? This is the question of the times, the people, and history. President Xi Jinping's proposal to work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind has clarified the direction of joint efforts of all countries and has become a lofty goal pursued by China's diplomacy. All countries have intertwined interests and share a common destiny, and should transcend differences in social systems, development stages, ethnicities and religions, and work together to build a global village and jointly care for the only planet inhabited by mankind. To this end, it is necessary to promote an equal and orderly multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization, and insist that all countries, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, can play their due role and enjoy the right to development and rejuvenation.

Ammar said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tunisia and China, and the cooperation between the two countries in various fields has been smoothly advanced. Both Turkistrium and China have a long history and splendid civilization, and the development of Turkistan-Chinese friendship is the common political will of both sides and conforms to the common interests of the two countries and the two peoples. The Tunisian Institute of International Diplomatic Relations is the crystallization of the profound friendship between Tunisia and China and the concrete achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Turkisan side will run the academy well, build an important platform for exchanging experiences and enhancing understanding, and a bridge connecting the two countries and the world, so as to contribute to the development and progress of human society.
