Sputnik and his friends are not from Africa, but from the Gobi Desert in Mongolia in Asia. It can sometimes get up to -50 degrees.

"Sputnik has thick fur and that helps a lot," says Linda Rönnlund and continues:

"Camels from Africa are more sensitive to the cold. They like to go into the heat when it gets -5 to -10 degrees.

The water freezes – the camels don't

According to Linda, she doesn't notice any reaction from the camels when the temperature creeps down to minus 40 degrees.

"The only problem we've had during the cold snaps is that the water outside froze, but we fixed that quickly," says Linda Rönnlund.
