Fujian and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are close to each other in terms of geography, culture, business and people. Yao Zhisheng, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and president of the Hong Kong Association of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification, believes that the Greater Bay Area has accumulated experience in the integrated development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, which can be used as a reference for promoting cross-strait integrated development. Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao CPPCC members can play a "double positive role" to strengthen the linkage and cooperation between the Greater Bay Area and the Cross-Strait Integrated Development Demonstration Zone.

After the release of the "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Supporting Fujian to Explore a New Road for Cross-Strait Integrated Development and Build a Cross-Strait Integrated Development Demonstration Zone" in September last year, policies and measures to benefit Taiwan continued to be superimposed, promoting Fujian to accelerate the construction of a cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone.

This has also attracted wide attention from Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao villagers. Zhang Zongzhen, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce from Macao, suggested giving full play to the advantages of Macao's financial industry, vigorously promoting financial cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, and making use of the good foundation of cooperation and mutual trust between the people of Macao and Taiwan to promote the integrated development of Fujian and Taiwan.

Complement each other's advantages and help the construction of new Fujian

Zhang Zongzhen also suggested that Macao's advantages in the planning, design, operation and management of the entire tourism industry chain should be brought into full play, and Fujian's advantages of good ecology and rich tourism resources should be carried out to carry out tourism development cooperation and promote the development of Fujian's tourism industry with cultural strength.

"Cultural tourism and gastronomy are Macao's strengths, and how to combine Fujian's needs is the foundation of Fujian-Macao cooperation. Chen Mingjin, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and president of the Macau Fujian Association, believes that a "Fu Pin" post station can be set up in Macao to promote more "Fu Pin" to jointly build "Belt and Road" countries and Portuguese-speaking countries, and make use of the gastronomic elements of Fujian and Macao to jointly hold a food and culture festival.

Zhuang Zixiang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and president of the Greater Bay Area Fintech Promotion Association, suggested exploring the construction of a dedicated cross-border data channel between Fujian and Hong Kong, and jointly developing green finance between Fujian and Hong Kong. "Making good use of the advantages of Hong Kong's internal and external carbon markets and setting up the Fujian-Hong Kong 'Carbon Market' mechanism can lead innovation in carbon market trading cooperation. ”

Care for young people and strengthen exchanges

After taking over as the chairman of the Hong Kong Fujian Women's Association in 2022, the first thing she did was to set up a youth committee to provide a broader communication platform for young women, assist them in employment and entrepreneurship, and encourage them to participate in politics and contribute to society.

Shi Jialun, a deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of the People's Alliance for Building Macao, pays more attention to the spiritual fit of young people. He suggested that more villagers, especially young people, should be encouraged to return to their hometowns for study and exchanges, and that outstanding youth representatives from various cities and students from primary and secondary schools should be organized to study and exchange in Hong Kong and Macao.
