The month of Ramadan 2024 begins on Monday, March 11, according to astronomical calculations

There are only a few days left until the beginning of the month of Ramadan 2024/1445, according to astronomical calculations, the holy month is supposed to begin on Monday, March 11, 2024, provided that the crescent is investigated after sunset on Sunday, 29 Shaaban 1445, corresponding to the tenth of March 2024.

Most Arab and Islamic countries adopt the investigation of the crescent through astronomical observatories, in accordance with the words of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "Fast to see it, break your fast to see it, and be silent about it.

Arab countries are expected to call on citizens to investigate the crescent of Ramadan 2024 on 29 Shaaban 1445, while the Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia will hold an investigation session for the crescent in the city of Hotat Sudair (northwest of the capital Riyadh), in which it will use the most famous visionaries who use the latest astronomical observation mechanisms.

After confirming and verifying the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan by legal and astronomical methods, the sighting of the crescent is announced by the official fatwa houses of the Arab and Islamic peoples, after which the blessed month begins.

On the other hand, some Islamic countries adopt astronomical calculations in determining the date of the beginning of the fasting month; in Turkey, the Presidency of Religious Affairs set March 11 as the first day of Ramadan 2024.

According to astronomical forecasts, the holy month will extend for 30 days, so that Wednesday the tenth of next April will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

The number of fasting hours is expected to be slightly more than 13 hours on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in most Arab countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, as well as Turkey and Iran, plus or minus a few minutes in this or that country.

The first day of Ramadan 2024 will be the shortest in the number of fasting hours in the Arab countries, and then gradually increase.
