"A 20-year-old student recruited by the Ukrainian special services was found guilty by the Kurgan Regional Court of working for the special services of Ukraine. The court sentenced the accused to imprisonment for a period of five years in a penal colony," the SBU said in a statement.

At the same time, he was sentenced to a year of restriction of freedom after his release.

It is specified that the young man, following the instructions of Ukrainian curators, intended to commit sabotage, as well as distribute pro-Ukrainian propaganda materials on the Internet. His tasks also included collecting data on the location of law enforcement units and military units.
