The pro-Palestine coalition in Britain announced global marches in support of Gaza on Saturday in more than 120 cities, within 45 countries around the world.

In a statement, the coalition said that "the global march in support of Palestine in London is expected to be resounded as a pivotal event within the framework of the International Day of Solidarity for Gaza around the world."

Hundreds of thousands of protesters are expected to take part in it, in conjunction with other demonstrations in more than 120 cities in 45 countries, according to the statement.

"This major event is organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Palestinian Forum in Britain, the Stop the War Coalition, the Nuclear Disarmament Campaign, the Friends of Al-Aqsa and the Muslim League in Britain," the coalition statement said.

"The crowd aims to send a strong message to the British government and the international community as a whole, and to intensify pressure to compel Israel to stop its ongoing brutal attacks on Gaza," the statement said.

According to the statement, this mass movement "is a global popular trial of the occupation to achieve the right, establish justice, renounce injustice and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people."

The upcoming demonstrations come as the International Court of Justice continues hearings in South Africa's case against Israel for genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, demanding an immediate end to Israel's 98-day war on the Strip.

In the midst of these demonstrations, the ICJ investigation is "a landmark and symbolic milestone", the statement said, adding that "this legal investigation not only highlights the gravity of the alleged crimes, but also a tangible shift in world public opinion, as well as the shortcomings in the justifications provided by the governments of the United Kingdom and the United States of America."

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which has left 23,708 dead and 60,5 injured, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, according to the Gaza authorities and the United Nations.
