"A criminal case has been initiated on the death of eight people as a result of an accident (Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia - the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence)," the regional branch of the department said in a statement.
It is specified that all the dead were in a minibus. The driver of the minivan was also killed in the accident. One passenger was also injured.
Earlier it was reported that the minivan drove into the oncoming lane on the M-5 Ural highway in the Penza region, where it collided with a truck, as a result of which seven people were killed.
