On the afternoon of January 9, Russian air defense systems prevented several attempts by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aircraft-type drones. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, in the period from 15:00 to 16:30 Moscow time, a total of nine Ukrainian UAVs were shot down over the territories of the Oryol, Kursk and Bryansk regions.

According to the governor of the Oryol region, Andrei Klychkov, two Ukrainian drones fell on the territory of the fuel and energy complex facility. The fire at the scene of the emergency was quickly localized. Another drone fell near the village of Malaya Sakhanka, Oryol Municipal District, on a non-residential facility.

"Three people were injured during the attack of enemy UAVs on the facilities of the fuel and energy complex of the Oryol region. They are provided with the necessary assistance. Two refused to be hospitalized. Emergency services are working at the scene," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

At the same time, the mayor of Oryol, Yuri Parakhin, added that after the fall of one of the UAVs, a multi-storey building was damaged, the windows in it were broken by the blast wave. Operational services of the power unit of the city and the region are working on the spot.

To eliminate the consequences, a commission on emergency situations was created in the administration of Oryol. Residents of the damaged house will be offered to stay at the TAC, if necessary, the city authorities noted.

In turn, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, pointed out that one of the drones was shot down over the Kurchatov district, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located.

According to the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, the Ukrainian UAV did not fall on the territory of the city.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed in the region after the shelling of the village of Gornal in the Sudzhansky district by Ukrainian militants. Two houses were also damaged.

In the Bryansk region, no casualties or destruction were recorded when the drone fell, said the head of the region, Alexander Bogomaz.

Attacks on the Belgorod region

Throughout the New Year holidays, the Belgorod region was under fire from Ukrainian militants.

On December 30, troops of the Kyiv regime hit Belgorod with Vilkha missiles in banned cluster munitions and Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets. As a result, 25 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.

On January 2, two Tochka-U OTRK missiles and 24 Vilkha MLRS missiles were shot down over the Belgorod region. On January 3, air defense systems destroyed 12 missiles: six Tochka-U missiles and six Vilkha MLRS missiles.

On the night of January 5, ten air targets were shot down on approach to Belgorod.

On January 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired more than 120 shells from artillery, grenade launchers and mortars at the region, mainly in the Grayvoron urban district and the Belgorod district.

On January 7, the Ukrainian army shelled seven districts of the Belgorod region with more than 100 shells, including four explosive devices from drones.

On January 8, ten air targets were shot down over Belgorod, as a result of which three economic facilities, six cars and a gas pipeline were damaged. In addition, another 24 arrivals were recorded in the Valuisky and Shebekinsky urban districts.

At the same time, in the Belgorod district, three people were injured after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, a woman with shrapnel wounds to the back, a man with shrapnel wounds to the chest, back and forearm, and another man with shrapnel wounds to the chest were hospitalized. Their condition is assessed as stable.
