The Constitutional Court has just confirmed the re-election of Félix Tshisekedi with 73.47% of the vote. The Court therefore confirmed the results announced by the CENI, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) following the presidential election on 20 December.

Two appeals had been filed, one by an individual, the other by a candidate: Théodore Ngoy.

He is the only one of the candidates to have lodged an appeal seeking the annulment of the election, due, he believes, to the irregularities observed on the day of the vote. The other opponents abstained, accusing the court of being subservient to the government.

Well, the Court declared Théodore Ngoy's application admissible, but unfounded.

As for the application of the private citizen, it was declared inadmissible for lack of standing.

In the end, the Court took only 24 minutes to render its decision.
