On January 1, the reporter learned from the Foshan Municipal Transportation Bureau that in 4, Foshan Port will seize the opportunity, take the initiative, and strive to accelerate high-quality development. According to preliminary statistics, in 2023, Foshan Port will complete a cargo throughput of 2023 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.02%, breaking through the 19 million ton mark for the first time and achieving a historic new leap.

This is not only a historic new leap in the development of Foshan port and shipping, but also contributes to the construction of a world-class port cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Standing at a new starting point of 515 million tons, in the next step, Foshan Port will actively integrate into the construction of a world-class port cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthen the integration and allocation of resources, improve the development level of port modernization and intensification, promote the deep integration of port logistics and manufacturing, promote the coordinated development of the port, industry and city, and provide port logistics service support for Foshan to adhere to the manufacturing industry and make every effort to move towards the "<>" high-quality development strategic goal.

Empowerment of scientific and technological innovation

Intelligent transformation promotes port cost reduction and efficiency increase

On January 1, the reporter saw in Sanshui Port that the only foreign trade port in Sanshui was a busy scene. In the control room, two staff members operate the gantry crane remotely in the harbor as if they were operating a game stick. In just 4 minutes, the container transported by the crane truck was hoisted. Last year, Sanshui Port invested about 3 million yuan to renovate and build a new intelligent remote control gantry crane, which greatly promoted the port's cost reduction and efficiency increase. Truck drivers can make an appointment to place an order before entering the port, and can complete the efficient unloading and loading of containers after entering the port without getting off the car.

In recent years, the steady growth of the throughput of Foshan Port is inseparable from the intelligent and informatization transformation and upgrading of various terminals. Foshan makes full use of cloud computing, Internet of Things, intelligent control and other new-generation information technologies to realize the seamless connection and coordination between various participants in the port logistics supply chain and improve the efficiency of port operations. According to statistics, since 2023, 9 container terminals have been upgraded by informatization transformation in the city, among which Sanshui Port and Sinotrans Jiujiang Terminal have implemented gantry crane intelligent remote control transformation to improve the operating environment and improve operational efficiency;

While promoting intelligent transformation, Foshan is also based on the positioning of the main container feeding port in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and vigorously promotes the innovation of the customs clearance mode of "One Port in the Bay Area" and "Combined Port", so as to improve logistics efficiency and reduce enterprise costs. The city's 11 port terminals and Shenzhen Shekou Port and Guangzhou Nansha Port have realized combined transportation, and the logistics time of water transportation goods has been shortened from 5~7 days to less than 2 days, and the logistics efficiency has been increased by more than 60%. In January ~ November 2023, 1,11 standard containers will be imported and exported through the "Bay Area One Port Connect" and "Combined Port".

Green leads the future

Introduce photovoltaic technology to create a green port

In 2022, the first phase of the 4MW distributed photovoltaic project in Shunde Xingang will be officially connected to the grid, and the smart energy management system project will be officially put into operation. The completion of the project will increase the proportion of green electricity in the port, realize the intelligent energy management and digital carbon emission management, and Shunde New Port will also become the first port of China Merchants Port to apply distributed photovoltaic power stations. Under the background of "dual carbon", the green and smart solutions of distributed photovoltaic and smart energy management systems will help Shunde New Port achieve decarbonization, and build a green and smart port demonstration of China Merchants Port on a pilot basis. In the future, after the second phase of Shunde New Port is completed and put into operation, the annual throughput capacity of Shunde New Port will reach 1 million TEUs of containers and 100 million tons of general cargo, building a comprehensive shipping and logistics hub in the Xijiang Basin, and relying on the construction of the first comprehensive bonded zone in Foshan in the rear, injecting new momentum into Foshan's deep integration into the "domestic and international dual circulation".

On the other hand, Foshan vigorously promotes the electrification of port operation machinery and guides the development of new loading and unloading machinery in the port, among which the new high-end port loading and unloading machinery and port trailers are fully electrified, providing Foshan cases for the construction of a first-class green inland container demonstration port in China.

In order to promote the green development of the port industry, Foshan has always adhered to the concept of green development throughout the whole process of port planning, construction and operation, systematically promoted the construction of green ports, and effectively strengthened the reception and disposal of pollutants from port ships, the construction and use of port shore power facilities, and the collection and treatment of dust and rain and sewage at dry bulk terminals. In 2023, the amount of pollutants received by ships and the use of shore power will be among the best in the province's ports.

Large-scale development

Last year, 18% of the city's wharves were integrated and cleared

With the continuous improvement of intelligent and information-based transformation, as well as the continuous advancement of green port construction, Foshan Port is accelerating towards large-scale and high-quality development. In 2023, Foshan will make every effort to promote the implementation of the "Three-year Action Plan for Promoting the Comprehensive Transformation and Upgrading of Ports in Foshan City (2023-2025)".

Gaohe Wharf in Gaoming Port Area will be officially opened in September 2023, with a construction area of 9,12 square meters and a total investment of more than 6 million yuan.

The construction of the second phase of the Shunde New Port Project in Shunde Port Area is progressing as scheduled, and it will become the largest inland river industry port in the Pearl River Delta and even the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area after completion.

On the other hand, Foshan actively promotes the special cleaning and rectification of small scattered wharves, in accordance with the "shutdown and removal of a batch", "standardization and improvement of a batch" and "promotion and optimization of a batch" Since 2023, 3 wharves have been integrated, 17 wharves have been shut down and cleared, and the number of integrated wharves accounts for 18% of the total number of wharves in the city.
