"I express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of those killed in Belgorod from the brutal shelling by the Ukrainian armed formations. I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded," he wrote on Telegram
He noted that, unfortunately, the residents of the DPR are well aware of what it is like to live under shelling.
"These inhuman methods of the enemy are to shell peaceful neighborhoods. Without any military expediency. Just out of anger and despair," Pushilin added.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukrainians are exacerbating aggression against civilians, especially during the holidays, in connection with which he called for extreme caution during the New Year holidays.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Belgorod with two Vilkha missiles in cluster munition, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets.
According to the latest data from the Russian Emergencies Ministry, 12 adults and two children were killed as a result of the shelling of Belgorod by Ukrainians. Another 108 people, including 15 children, were injured.
