As he noted in his Telegram, he has already reported on the situation in the city to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

By now, all the heads of law enforcement agencies have already reported to him on the consequences of the massive strike and on the measures that are being taken.

"To date, 108 people have been injured, including 15 children. Five children and 12 adults are in serious condition. 14 people were killed, three of them children. I sincerely offer my deepest condolences to all the families of the victims, I understand that there are no words that could console this grief," he said.

According to him, work has already begun to assess the damage. A door-to-door inspection is carried out. People are offered to leave damaged apartments and go to temporary accommodation centers. They have already been determined.

"At the moment, we have information about the damage to more than 100 cars, most of them were completely destroyed - burned. Damage was found in 22 MCDs, a large number of commercial facilities, shopping centers, shops," the governor added.

The government of the Belgorod region has switched to round-the-clock operation.

"And a decision was made to cancel mass events on the territory of all nine border municipalities, plus Belgorod and the Yakovlevsky urban district," he concluded.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Belgorod with two Vilkha missiles in cluster munition, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets.

According to the latest data from the Russian Emergencies Ministry, 12 adults and two children were killed as a result of the shelling of Belgorod by Ukrainians. Another 108 people, including 15 children, were injured.
