Traffic may be slower, especially in open landscapes, where snow has not been cleared or due to traffic accidents. There is also a risk of delays in bus, train and air traffic as well as cancelled departures. Areas with overhead power lines may be affected and, at a temperature close to zero degrees, cause disruptions to the electricity and telecommunications supply. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for snowfall and wind that may cause problems in traffic on New Year's Day. The warning applies to northwestern Götaland and southernmost Svealand.
