"On December 27, Akulova was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Russia, on the same day she was charged. She pleaded guilty partially," the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg said in a statement.

Akulova was remanded in custody until February 25, 2024.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of St. Petersburg invited two elementary school students to warm up with tea in her apartment, but instead of giving the children a warming drink, she beat them with nunchucks.

The schoolchildren were hospitalized.

Prior to the incident, the woman was registered with the police in connection with the improper performance of her parental duties.
