According to German media reports, there has been an increase in natural gas consumption in the country in recent weeks.

According to the newspapers of the "Funke" media group – based on the Federal Agency for Networks – that this rise is primarily due to the significant increase in gas consumption in the industrial sector, and explained that consumption has increased since the beginning of last October by 2.7% compared to the same period last year.

For his part, the head of the Federal Agency for Networks, Klaus Müller, again called for rationalization of gas consumption, saying that "the tanks are full by up to about 90%, and we have stable imports that secure our gas supply," noting that gas shortages are unlikely during this winter.

While household and commercial gas consumption has risen 5.2% since the beginning of October, gas consumption in the industrial sector has risen by 1.11%.

The federal and state governments are intensifying energy rationalization, and Berlin has allocated a large support package for the population totaling 200 million euros to specifically cap electricity and gas prices, as well as to cope with inflation, and hundreds of thousands of residents have received direct financial support.
