In Stockholm, there has been extensive queues after an accident where five cars collided with each other in the Fredhäll tunnel.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the accident, but some people are said to have complained of pain.

In the Klara Tunnel in Stockholm, traffic is at a standstill, says Ola Österling.

"There, the emergency services are working to recover a truck that is wedged in.

Swedish Transport Administration: There will be some ice patches

Tomorrow's roads can be really slippery depending on how much the temperature drops.

"If the temperature drops down to four or five degrees below zero, it's right to a lot of slippery conditions and there will be a lot of ice patches that start the day," says Bengt Olsson, press officer at the Swedish Transport Administration.

The Christmas traffic has started in earnest and at the same time a heavy snowfall is falling over Östergötland. This has led to several run-offs on the E4, among other places, but there are no reports of major accidents with serious injuries.

SJ: Cancelled departures until around Epiphany

In recent days, SJ has cancelled several departures due to a shortage of vehicles.

"These are individual departures that we are cancelling to ensure that the trains that are scheduled to run will not be cancelled at short notice before Christmas," says Anders Edgren, press officer at SJ.

    He continues:

    - We will have individual cancelled departures until around Epiphany.

Four routes will be affected, Stockholm–Gothenburg, Stockholm–Malmö, Stockholm–Sundsvall and Gothenburg–Malmö.

    The weather also affects traffic.

"The weather has meant that we can't get enough trains out and that's why some departures have had to be cancelled," says Anders Edgren.

There are also delays in train services due to staff shortages. Passengers who have been affected have received text messages with information about postponed departures.

Several power outages after heavy snowfall

In Östergötland, 440 Eon customers have been left without electricity. The reason is the heavy snowfall. Now the electricity company has announced that it will have to stop the repairs.

"There are now a total of 13 different outages that we are working on and now darkness has set in at the same time as it is a dangerous and difficult situation with all the snow-covered trees. We must therefore stop the work, says Björn Persson, at Eon.
