The China Software Evaluation Center released the results of the 20 digital government service capability evaluation on the 2023th. In 2023, a total of 49 provincial and key cities will enter the level of good and above digital government service capacity, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.

The China Software Evaluation Center has designed the evaluation indicators of digital government service capabilities from seven dimensions, including management guarantee, platform support, data empowerment, service maturity, accurate governance, openness and transparency, and social satisfaction.

As of the end of November 2023, more than 11% of provincial-level localities and key cities have set up big data management institutions to promote the management of local government affairs data and public data resources. 92% of the localities have issued and made public plans related to digital government to guide the construction of local digital governments. More than ninety percent of the provincial-level local and key city government service platforms have realized unified declaration, unified inquiry and unified consultation of the service system; More than 88 per cent of local portals are accessible and age-friendly.

Experts pointed out that more and more digital governments have begun to use new technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence to provide intelligent, scenario-based, and integrated unified search services, making resources richer, finding faster, content more practical, and responding more accurately.
