American comedian Jerry Seinfeld from a Hungarian Jewish father and a Syrian Jewish mother (social media)

US actor Jerry Seinfeld's visit to Israel has topped the search engines over the past few hours, and has been met with some boos from social media users, especially those in solidarity with Gaza.

This man has become the un funniest person in the world. Holding a killing machine in one hand and trying to look tough just doesn't cut it. @jerryseinfeld vile and disgusting

More than two months after the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza starting on October 7, Seinfeld decided to go with his family to Tel Aviv on a solidarity trip, during which he visited the families of prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance and was keen to console them.

He also toured Kibbutz Be'eri and visited the headquarters of the Brotherhood in Arms, which began as part of protests against judicial reform promoted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, and with Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the organization decided to suspend all its activities and become the largest relief organization in Israel.

As part of the same visit, Seinfeld met with the organization's leaders for a talk, including a briefing on their activities during the last war.

He is there now, though!

I will always stand with Israel

The visit was not Seinfeld's first reaction since the "Al-Aqsa Flood" and on October 10 he posted a photo of a woman holding the Israeli flag on his personal Instagram account, captioning it, "I lived and worked in a kibbutz when I was 16 years old, and I have loved our Jewish homeland ever since, my heart breaks from these attacks and atrocities, I will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people."

The American actor also co-signed, along with more than 700 Hollywood film and television workers, an open letter condemning the Palestinian side, issued by the Creative Society for Peace Foundation and calling for support for Israel and making every effort to return the detainees.

Among those who participated in the signing were Israeli actress Gal Gadot, American actress Jamie Lee Curtis, her compatriot Debra Meesing, American actor Chris Payne and Liv Schreiber, along with American comedian Amy Schumer, producer and actor Michael Douglas, director Antoine Fuqua, and many others.

This prompted some Palestine solidarity to gather on December 9 and demonstrate in front of the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, New York, to protest Seinfeld's stand-up comedy show, accusing him of complicity and participation in genocide against the Palestinian people.

Retroactive solidarity

This support and solidarity is not the first of its kind in Seinfeld's overall history, as in 2015 the 69-year-old visited Tel Aviv for the first time, to present 4 entertainment shows.

In 2018, he traveled there for the second time, touring the IDF's Camp Kalibr 3, visiting a military air base, and taking pictures of himself and his family with some military trainees, during which he appeared to practice shooting with them.

Because of that visit, Seinfeld came under heavy attack, especially since this camp encourages the military occupation and political subjugation of Palestinians living in Gaza and the West Bank using violence, which prompted him to delete the related photos later, but did not change his position on supporting Israel.

Jerry Seinfeld and his family play fascists in the West Bank. Indoctrinating his young children to murder Palestinians and steal land. There is nothing funny about apartheid, occupation, settlement expansion, and executing occupied Palestinians. https://t.co/hypj7NLmwd

Military tourism is disgusting. Who in their right mind thinks a suicidebomber theme park is a good idea? #seinfeld https://t.co/CvudhvZ6Pz
