Since the Government took office, representatives have referred in several hearings and interviews to the fact that the climate action plan will provide answers to how to reduce emissions and live up to the national climate goals.

During a press conference on Thursday, the action plan will be presented.

Participants include Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M), Minister for Climate and Environment Romina Pourmokhtari (L), Minister for Enterprise Ebba Busch (KD) and the Sweden Democrats' climate and environmental policy spokesperson Martin Kinnunen.

SVT learns that several points have been removed in final negotiations with SD, including the abolition of the benefit tax for bus passes. According to several sources, no new proposals are expected to significantly reduce emissions. An important measure that, according to SVT's sources, is in the plan is the EU's expanded emissions trading system.

According to the Climate Policy Council, the policy that the government has presented so far is not sufficient to achieve the climate goals by 2030.
