He noted that the fundamental problem of the conflict in Ukraine is not the lack of funding or the insufficient number of weapons supplied.

"It was a vain idea of the West that Ukraine would be able to push Russia back to the 1991 borders," Vance wrote on his social network X.

According to him, such a notion was a fantasy 18 years ago and remains so today.
