More than 20 years ago, Wang Naichang, the grandfather of Taiqing Wang Zhengwen, was concerned about his homeland and returned to his hometown of Qufu, Shandong, to build a factory to run a school and develop education. 10 years ago, Wang Zhengwen followed in his grandfather's footsteps to "land" and "take over" to continue to write a new chapter in the family education career.

Recently, when a reporter from Chinanews met Wang Zhengwen, he was patrolling the teaching building of Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College, paying attention to the students' class status in time and checking the environmental sanitation on campus.

Wang Zhengwen, who was born in 1992 in a family of educators in Taiwan, is a director of Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College, his grandfather is Wang Naichang, a famous educator and entrepreneur in Taiwan, and his father is Wang Yuanren, president of Far Eastern University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. Influenced by his family culture since he was a child, he has longed for the hometown of Confucius and Mencius with profound cultural heritage since he was a child.

"After graduating from university in 2013, I came to the college to work at the college, and although I went to Beijing and Singapore to study, I still chose to return to this familiar land to 'put down roots'. Wang Zhengwen said.

Wang Zhengwen recalled that Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College was invested and established by his grandfather Wang Naichang in 1998 and was the first Taiwan-funded general junior college in the mainland. "My grandfather chose Qufu to invest in his hometown because of his hometown, and I also hope to inherit the family business in this homeland and contribute to the development of education on both sides of the strait. ”

"After coming to this school, my love for education has deepened. Wang Zhengwen told reporters that at the beginning of the establishment of the school, his grandfather Wang Naichang emphasized that the school was not for profit, but to cultivate talents for the homeland. "I am also practicing at all times that private schools must take public welfare as their original intention, and cannot let 'educators' become 'businessmen'. ”

During his tenure, Wang Zhengwen vigorously urged teachers and students on both sides of the strait to exchange and study Xi. "Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College and Taiwan Far Eastern University of Science and Technology are sister schools, and have extensive exchanges and cooperation in teaching, scientific research, management and other aspects. Wang Zhengwen revealed that since September 2016, the school has organized nearly 9 outstanding teachers and students to go to Taiwan for exchange and Xi, and more than 200 exchange students in Taiwan have obtained Taiwan's patents. At the same time, Taiwan's Far Eastern University of Science and Technology also sends teachers and students to Qufu for academic and cultural exchanges every year.

In Wang Zhengwen's view, exchanges and Xi are a "good medicine" for narrowing the distance between teachers and students on both sides of the strait, and also a "magic recipe" for enhancing the understanding and recognition of teachers and students on both sides of the strait. "I hope to take this opportunity to promote the development of cross-strait relations and build a bridge of cross-strait education and communication. ”

Today, Qufu Far East Vocational and Technical College has become a private university with 3 campuses and 58 majors, with more than 1,5 students and more than 600 faculty members. Seeing the current development of the school, Wang Zhengwen said frankly that it proved that he was not wrong in "following" his grandfather's footsteps.

In his spare time, Wang Zhengwen always practices the mission of "bridge builder" and actively introduces Taiwan businessmen to the mainland for inspection and investment. He also became a philanthropist and continued to donate to the school's poor students and Qufu's public welfare. "I will continue to move forward on the road of 'bridge builder', and I will also let my son 'take over the baton' and strive to contribute to cross-strait exchanges." Wang Zhengwen said. (ENDS)
