Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne on Thursday once again committed the government's responsibility under Article 49.3 of the Constitution on the revenue part of the State budget for 2024 in a new reading in the Assembly. "Constitutional deadlines are pressing us and (...) No opposition group is prepared to vote for this budget. We must assume our responsibilities," the Prime Minister said. This is the 21st 49.3 triggered by Élisabeth Borne or on her behalf since her arrival in Matignon, which allows her to pass the text without a vote. The president of the LFI group, Mathilde Panot, announced the tabling of a motion of censure against a "denial of democracy".
