The Israeli occupation army announced on Monday morning that 4 soldiers, including two officers, were killed in the ongoing battles in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip, while the Israeli media talked about a large gap between the number of wounded announced by the army compared to the partial lists announced by hospitals.

The announced death toll of the Israeli army has risen to 107 since the beginning of the ground campaign in the Gaza Strip on October 26, including 35 since the end of the truce 10 days ago, and the total number of soldiers and officers killed since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 431.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari acknowledged that fighting is still fierce in a number of areas such as Shujaiya, Jabalia and Khan Younis, where the Israeli army faces stiff resistance, stressing that there were deaths and injuries in its ranks.

The Israeli army announced yesterday that an officer died of wounds sustained in battles in northern Gaza two days ago.

Big gap

Israel's Soroka Hospital in Beersheba said it had received 24 Israeli soldiers wounded in the Gaza Strip fighting in the last 28 hours, six of them critically.

According to the hospital, 44 soldiers and officers who were wounded in the Gaza battles are still lying in the hospital, including 9 in serious condition, and the hospital confirmed that it has provided treatment to 2034 soldiers and officers since the seventh of last October.

Haaretz also quoted sources as saying that there is a large gap between the number of wounded soldiers announced by the Israeli occupation army today, which is 1600, and the numbers of wounded soldiers according to the partial lists announced by the hospitals that received wounded soldiers since the first days of the war, which amounted to about 4591.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed that the number of wounded soldiers amounted to about 5,<> soldiers.

Qassam Declaration

On Sunday, Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida announced in a speech obtained by Al Jazeera that al-Qassam fighters completely or partially destroyed 180 occupation vehicles within 10 days.

The al-Qassam Brigades also confirmed the killing of 40 Israeli soldiers in Jabalia and east of Khan Yunis, and the targeting of 44 vehicles within two days, and published photos of the targeting of an Israeli Merkava tank in the Tel al-Zaatar area in the northern Gaza Strip.

The al-Qassam Brigades also published a video showing Israeli helicopters transporting wounded soldiers after the Sufa military site was bombed and set on fire.
