According to RIA Novosti, he said this on the sidelines of the forum "Russia Calling!".

"The issue of up to 30% increase in the down payment is being discussed, and the support for expensive mortgage loans in Moscow, the Moscow Region, and St. Petersburg is decreasing," Aksakov said.

At the same time, he stressed that we are talking about increasing the down payment on preferential mortgages for housing in new buildings, which is available to a wide range of borrowers, and for the rest (for example, family and Far Eastern) is not discussed.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Finance of Russia submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft resolution with changes to the conditions for issuing preferential mortgages. In particular, the document prescribes an increase in the down payment to 30%.
