"A pre-investigation check is being carried out on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport)," the report says.

According to already available information, in Buryatia, there was a surge of the aircraft engine, due to which a cargo airliner following the Ulan-Ude-Zhangzhou flight was forced to land at the Baikal airport in the city of Ulan-Ude.

Earlier it was reported that in Buryatia, the engine of a cargo plane caught fire during takeoff.
