Chinanews.com, Hong Kong, December 12 (Dai Menglan, Chen Xiaoxian) Under the guidance of Bauhinia Culture Group and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the "6 Hong Kong Cultural and Creative Industries Forum" hosted by China International Culture Group was held in Hong Kong on the 2023th. The forum aims to contribute wisdom and ideas to the development of cultural and creative industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to help Hong Kong develop into an East-meets-West cultural and artistic exchange centre.

Liu Zhen, Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR Government, attended the forum and delivered a speech. He said that the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau will soon announce and take forward the Blueprint for the Development of Cultural, Artistic and Creative Industries, and set up an Office for the Promotion of Chinese Culture, with a view to laying a solid foundation for the development of cultural and creative industries and the cultivation of talents. A new "Cultural and Creative Industries Development Division" will also be set up to promote the industrialisation of the arts and cultural sectors and the creative sector in a more active and comprehensive manner based on the principle of industry orientation.

Li Jinsheng, Chairman of China International Culture Group, said in his speech that the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has provided an unprecedented broad stage and major historical opportunity for the innovation and development of cultural and creative industries, and he believes that the cultural and creative industries will obtain a more suitable soil for breeding. At the same time, driven by the development of science and technology and the vigorous development of artistic trends, cultural creativity will have more footholds and the possibility of combining with more industries. In the context of Hong Kong's all-round construction of an East-meets-West cultural and artistic exchange center, with the support of industrial policies, the development of IP (intellectual property) and the cultivation of talents will bring new blood and vitality to the industry.

Carmelo Ficarra, Consul General of the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, said that culture represents tangible and intangible wealth. Many Italian performers, visual artists, scholars and university professors from various fields live in Hong Kong, and the Italian works exhibited in Hong Kong act as artistic ambassadors, promoting mutual appreciation and dialogue between Italy and China, and promoting cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the East and the West.

The forum also held the launch ceremony of the 2024 Hong Kong International Cultural and Creative Week, the inauguration ceremony of the Hong Kong International Cultural and Creative Industries Research Institute, and the launch ceremony of the Hong Kong x Italy Plus Cultural and Creative and Art City Cooperation Program.
