Regarding the situation in Ukraine, Judge Tomoko Akane of the ICC = International Criminal Court, who issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin on suspicion of war crimes, responded to reporters and emphasized that there was enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant for President Putin on suspicion of war crimes.

In March, the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands, issued arrest warrants for two people, including President Vladimir Putin, on suspicion of war crimes under international law over Russia's transfer of children from occupied territories in Ukraine to the Russian side.

Speaking to reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York on June 6, ICC Judge Akane said, "When we issue an arrest warrant, we only judge whether there is a need for arrest and whether there is evidence of facts. They do not issue an arrest warrant without substantial evidence. We considered it from a practical point of view," he said, stressing that there was enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant for Putin on suspicion of war crimes.

On the other hand, the Russian government strongly objected to the ICC's arrest warrant, and in July, Russian state media reported that the Russian government wanted Judge Akane.

Regarding this, Judge Akane said, "I was expecting it, and no matter what, I will only fulfill my duties neutrally," but in order to protect my safety, I also clarified that I usually pay attention to what I eat, such as food and water when I go out.
