Died since November 10

According to the Interregional Directorate of Penitentiary Services, he died on 10 November in the juvenile section of the Longuenesse penitentiary centre (Pas-de-Calais). Of Ivorian nationality, according to a source close to the investigation, this 17-year-old "unaccompanied minor" had been indicted for voluntary homicide, according to Lille prosecutor Carole Etienne. The victim, a 68-year-old retired nurse, was found dead in her home on October 18.

A police source said police were alerted by a neighbor of the victim, who heard screams, and came face to face with the attacker. At the scene, police found the victim with his lower body stripped naked and his throat slit, the source said.
