Recently, the Guangdong Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid held the release of Guangzhou's "Evaluation Specification for Public Charging and Swapping Station for Electric Vehicles" (hereinafter referred to as the "Evaluation Specification") and the commissioning ceremony of Pazhou Multi-intelligent Supercharging Station in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The fully liquid-cooled supercharging technology used in the supercharging station can greatly shorten the charging time, with a range of 5 kilometers in as little as 300 minutes, which can meet the charging needs of 68 electric vehicles at the same time.

Make charging as convenient as refueling

For a long time, problems such as the inability to find a charging station, slow charging and long time, and insufficient battery safety have plagued the majority of electric vehicle owners. In order to solve these "pain points", Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau actively carries out technological innovation and practice.

The Pazhou supercharging station put into operation this time is the first comprehensive service station in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that integrates various elements and functions such as "distributed photovoltaic + energy storage + fully liquid-cooled supercharging + flexible charging stack + vehicle detection + vehicle-network interaction + digital twin platform", and is also a demonstration model for exploring source-grid-load-storage and multi-energy complementary microgrids.

The supercharging station is located in the Pazhou area of Guangzhou city center, close to the Canton Fair Complex, with an overall area of about 9000,68 square meters, which can meet the charging of 5 electric vehicles at the same time. The fully liquid-cooled supercharging technology used can greatly shorten the charging time, with a range of 300 kilometers in as little as <> minutes, which can greatly improve the charging experience of users and alleviate customer range anxiety. The battery detection system does a "physical examination" for the battery while charging, so as to escort the safe travel of electric vehicles.

As a large-scale mobile "power bank", electric vehicles can be charged during the trough period of electricity consumption through the V2G (electric vehicle power transmission technology) charging piles in the station in the future, and discharge to the grid during the peak period of electricity consumption, which can not only help the power grid peak shaving and valley filling, stabilize the power load, but also allow operators and car owners to obtain the income of the charging and discharging price difference.

Mr. Sun, the owner of the electric car who experienced charging at the site that day, was full of praise for the newly put into production smart supercharging station: "It feels good to charge here, the charging station is close to the city center, and it is very convenient to come over." Under the supercharging function, I can charge one kilometer in one second at the earliest, which solves my charging anxiety very well, and I hope that there will be more and more such stations, so that charging is as convenient as refueling. ”

The relevant person in charge of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau said that in the future, it will continue to promote the integrated development of charging facilities and new power systems, explore the construction of a high-level form of charging and swapping industry system with the integration of "Internet of Vehicles + charging network + energy network", and help Guangzhou to walk in the forefront of the country with the model of "one fast and one slow, orderly charging" and "super charging capital".

Released the country's first public charging and swapping station grade evaluation specification

The charging of new energy vehicles is considered to be the "last mile" of the promotion of new energy vehicles, which is very important for the promotion and development of new energy vehicles. Since 2020, China's new energy vehicles and charging infrastructure have maintained explosive growth. As of the end of October this year, the number of electric vehicles in China was nearly 10 million, and the number of public charging piles reached 1900.253 million. While the scale of charging facilities is growing, the development of the industry is also facing challenges such as low threshold for charging station construction, inconsistent standards, many charging pile failures, and lack of supporting facilities, which not only affect the charging safety and use experience of car owners, but also are not conducive to the formation of a benign market competition order.

The "Evaluation Specification" released this time is the first public charging and swapping station grade evaluation specification in China. The specification is led by the Guangzhou Electric Vehicle Charging and Swapping Facilities Industry Association, and the Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau mainly participates in the preparation, which stipulates the classification and evaluation methods of public electric vehicle charging and swapping stations, including the compliance requirements for charging and swapping equipment and the evaluation of public charging and swapping station facilities and equipment, operation and maintenance management, safety management, operation services, station environment and supporting facilities.

"The release of the "Evaluation Specification" provides a basis for improving the standardization and standardization level of charging stations, and promotes the survival of the fittest through evaluation and rating, which helps to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the entire market." Lin Weixin, director of the South China Center of the China Electric Vehicle 100 Association, introduced that after the application of the evaluation standard, it will improve the technical level of charging and swapping facilities, improve the quality of operation and management, promote the improvement of station supporting services, and promote the transformation of electric vehicle charging and swapping services in Guangzhou from "charging up" to "charging well".
