Nanfang Daily News (Reporter/Liu Qian Correspondent/Han Yi) At 12 o'clock on December 3, accompanied by a whistle, a China-Laos international freight train loaded with lamps, bathware, electronic products and other goods set off smoothly from Zengcheng Railway Logistics Park in Guangzhou, and will exit through Mohan Port in Yunnan Province, and is expected to arrive in Vientiane, Laos in 10 days.

This is the 3200,1th car of the China-Laos International Freight Train in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on its second anniversary. In the past two years, this steel dragon galloping across the Southeast Asian continent has injected new momentum into the economic development of China and Laos. From January to November this year, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area sent more than 11,3 tons of goods through the China-Laos railway, doubling year-on-year. In the past two years, more than 6,6 tons of high-quality commodities "Made in the Bay Area" have been transported to various places along the China-Laos Railway, supporting the "main artery" of the international industrial chain and supply chain with stable and efficient logistics services, and the role of the "golden channel" of China-Laos freight transportation has become increasingly prominent.

On December 2021, 12, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area kicked off the opening of the China-Laos International Freight Train, with two China-Laos international freight trains loaded with 3 containers starting from Shenzhen Pinghu South Railway Logistics Park and Guangzhou Zengcheng Railway Logistics Park on the same day, all the way along the newly opened China-Laos Railway to Vientiane, Laos, opening up a new railway logistics channel from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to the ASEAN region, and injecting new vitality into bilateral economic and trade.

On May 2022, 5, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area "China-Laos-Thailand" international cold chain train loaded with malt, vegetables and other goods from Shenzhen Pinghu South Railway Logistics Park, arrived in Laos 26 days later, arrived in Thailand 5 days later, and finally loaded high-quality fruits in Thailand and returned to China.

On April 4 this year, a fresh durian special train loaded with 24 tons and a value of more than 427 million yuan departed from Madapur, Thailand, passed through Vientiane South, Laos, entered through Mohan Port, and arrived in Guangzhou after 1000 days, and then distributed to major supermarkets and fruit markets in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and surrounding areas. This is the first time that Thailand has exported durian to China in large quantities through the China-Laos Railway, and the opening of the China-Laos Railway has brought new opportunities for Southeast Asian fruit exports to China.

"China and ASEAN countries are adjacent to each other, the culture is similar, the complementary advantages are obvious, the subtropical fruits of ASEAN are in line with the preferences of the people of the Greater Bay Area, the electronic products and lamps of the Greater Bay Area are the 'pretty goods' in the ASEAN market, and the China-Laos Railway Corridor provides bilateral enterprises with lower logistics costs and higher logistics efficiency, and brings richer and more affordable items to the regions and people along the line." The relevant person in charge of Guangzhou Fast and Steady Acceleration International Logistics Co., Ltd. introduced.

Nowadays, relying on the China-Laos Railway, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has more convenient and close exchanges with Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and other countries and regions, and the categories of transported goods have expanded from more than 10 kinds of electrical appliances and daily chemicals in the early stage of opening to hundreds of kinds of electronic products, furniture, food, etc. Guangzhou International Port, Zengcheng, Shenzhen Pinghu South, Jiangmen North and other Greater Bay Area railway freight logistics parks have formed regional linkage, with an average of 2-3 trucks per week fully loaded with "Made in the Bay Area", and the freight "report card" is very eye-catching.

Guangzhou Railway Group said that the next step will be to build a "railway freight yard + urban integrated logistics hub", give full play to the agglomeration effect of railway logistics bases, smooth the circulation of industrial chain and supply chain, and continuously improve the efficiency and value-added services of China-Laos international freight trains, so as to provide sufficient capacity support for products in the Greater Bay Area to better "go global".
