Mathias Vicherat, the director of Sciences Po Paris, was taken into custody in a Paris police station on Monday. He succeeded Frédéric Mion in November 2021, who was forced to resign for concealing suspicions of incest against political scientist Olivier Duhamel.

The director of Sciences Po Paris, Mathias Vicherat, has been taken into custody in a Paris police station for domestic violence, AFP learned on Monday from a source close to the case, which was confirmed by the Paris prosecutor's office. Mathias Vicherat had succeeded Frédéric Mion at the head of Sciences Po Paris in November 2021, who was forced to resign in February of that year for having concealed suspicions of incest against political scientist Olivier Duhamel.

The police custody is taking place at the police station in the 7th arrondissement of the capital, which the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed to AFP. The prosecutor's office also confirmed that Mathias Vicherat and his girlfriend were taken into custody on Sunday evening, each accusing the other of domestic violence.
