This was reported in the press service of the capital's Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee.

According to the investigation, on December 3, a fire broke out in an apartment building located on Bibliotechnaya Street in Moscow.

"Three people, including two children, were taken to the capital's hospital. Despite the medical care provided, two children died of carbon monoxide poisoning," the statement said.

A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (causing death by negligence to two or more persons).

Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Saratov region reported that the child died, two more people were injured as a result of a fire in an apartment of a five-story residential building in Saratov.
