Occupation carries out arrests, raids and demolitions in various cities of the West Bank (French)

4 Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces and extremist settlers in various areas in the occupied West Bank during the past 24 hours, while the Israeli army stormed Jenin, Qalqilya and Hebron and arrested dozens of Palestinians.

The West Bank is witnessing a wave of tension and field confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli army, in conjunction with a devastating war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip that has left massive destruction of infrastructure and tens of thousands of martyrs, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

The Health Ministry said a Palestinian died of his wounds in the village of Jalameh, northeast of Jenin.

A young man was also killed and others were wounded by settlers' and Israeli occupation forces in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit.

Groups of extremist settlers stormed the town under the protection of the occupying forces and carried out a series of attacks on citizens and their property.

In the city of Qalqilya, Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that a Palestinian youth died of his wounds after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces.

The correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods in the city amid heavy gunfire.

The occupying forces also killed a young man in the village of Tal, south of Nablus, at a military checkpoint last night.

Ongoing attacks

In turn, the Palestinian Ministry of Health condemned, on Sunday, the Israeli forces' beating and arresting the driver of the Health Directorate in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kayla, said in a statement that the occupation forces beat the driver of the car and his colleague (whom she did not name) and searched the directorate's car and broke its contents, as the crew was heading from Bethlehem governorate to the warehouses of the central ministry in Nablus to get the grafts.

Al-Kayla stressed that the occupation is escalating daily in its deliberate attacks on treatment centers and teams in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, bombing and storming hospitals, arresting the wounded and medical staff, and disregarding international laws, rights or conventions.

She called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations and institutions to intervene immediately to provide protection for treatment centers, health sector staff, ambulances and crews.

Night arrests

Last night and at dawn on Saturday, the incursions of the occupying forces into many Palestinian areas in the West Bank continued.

They raided homes in Jenin city and Askar refugee camp east of Nablus, Jericho city in the Jordan Valley, Jabal al-Tawil in al-Bireh city, and several villages south of Nablus and Hebron.

The Prisoners' Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced in a joint statement that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 60 Palestinians, including 5 girls and former prisoners, last night and this morning, before releasing some of them in the morning.

The statement added that the arrests were concentrated in the governorates of Hebron and Ramallah, while the rest were distributed in the governorates of Jericho, Jenin, Salfit and Bethlehem.

The statement condemned the Israeli occupation forces' raids on homes, beating and abusing their inhabitants, and subjecting them to field interrogation, before taking them to detention centers.

This brings the number of detainees in the West Bank to about 3500,<> since the seventh of last October.

The Israeli occupation forces also raided Al-Sawaneh neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, and notified the residents of a building where the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, lives of the decision to demolish it under the pretext of building without a permit.

In this context, the Israeli occupation forces demolished this morning a floor in one of the buildings in the town of Sur Baher, south of Jerusalem, on the pretext of not having a permit.

The owner of the building told Al Jazeera by telephone that the apartment that was demolished housed five members of the family of the daughter of freed prisoner Jihad Attoun.

On a daily basis, the Israeli army carries out raids on villages and towns throughout the occupied West Bank, accompanied by confrontations, arrests, shooting and tear gas canisters at Palestinians.

The arrests escalated on the impact of a devastating war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October, which left 15,207 martyrs and 40,652 wounded, in addition to massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, according to official Palestinian and UN sources.
