Skellefteå Municipality, in competition with the large industrial establishments, has found it increasingly difficult to get staff to the care sector.

On Tuesday, the Alliance parties – the Moderates, the Liberals, the Center Party and the Christian Democrats – presented three joint motions that they believe will strengthen the supply of personnel.

"We hear, for example, about nurses delivering food, that's not how it should be," said Per Boström, group leader of the Christian Democrats.

The proposals include procuring tasks that are not care-related. Enlisting EPA youth to work with the elderly.

And to guarantee students who study the health and social care programme a job after their studies.

Municipal commissioner Lorents Burman (S) says that he will take a position on the motions when they are discussed before the council.
