"Officers of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with colleagues from the Kaluga region, detained suspects in the abduction of a minor," said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

Employees of the department establish the circumstances and motives of the crime.

Earlier, an eight-year-old girl disappeared in the Kaluga region, she left school in the afternoon and did not return. Her mother received a message on her smartphone demanding a ransom for the child.

An RT source said that the girl was found alive 28 km from Kozelsk in the Tula region. She could have been thrown out of the car.

RT, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, also reported that a family from the village of Kasyanovo, Kaluga Region, was detained on suspicion of kidnapping the girl.
