It was an unusually grey buck that arrived in parts at Rådhusplatsen in Gävle where it will be rebuilt on Thursday.

It's not the hard times that have made the goat grey with worries, but it's the summer's weather that's the cause.

Listen to the Gävle goat's spokesperson, Anna-Karin Niemann, talk in the video about how the weather has caused problems for the goat's appearance.

On the first Sunday of Advent, on Sunday, the goat will be inaugurated. As usual, the buck will be monitored to prevent anyone from setting it on fire. 2021 was the last time the goat was destroyed.

In the previous 56 years as the goat, it has only survived Christmas 19 times. The big question is whether 2023 will be the 20th.
