One accusation too many? Jonathann Daval was sentenced in 2020 to 25 years in prison for the murder of his wife Alexia in October 2017. Before confessing, the murderer had accused his brother-in-law of murdering his wife, claiming a family conspiracy. Alexia's family then took this slanderous denunciation to court. Jonathann will therefore be tried again in January 2024. Questioned about his client's guilt, lawyer Randall Schwerdorffer, a guest on the show Pascal Praud et vous, said that his colleagues "are not lie detectors". "Intimate conviction is reserved for the judges and jurors of the Assize Court. The attorney general, the one who prosecutes or the one who defends, does not have to be deeply convinced," he stressed to Pascal Praud.
