Israeli soldiers on tanks deployed on the southern border with the Gaza Strip (French)

Sources familiar with the Israeli army's movements revealed that the Israeli occupation forces returned about 55% of their forces and vehicles in Gaza to rear points around the Gaza Strip during the humanitarian truce.

The sources estimated – for Al Jazeera Net – the number of tanks withdrawn in that operation about 450 tanks, noting that this decline is due – apparently – to avoid exposure of these mechanisms to more blows from the Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza.

This comes at a time when satellite images obtained by Al Jazeera showed the withdrawal of Israeli vehicles and tanks from residential neighborhoods where the occupation forces had penetrated into Gaza City.

The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast scenes in previous times of the destruction of Israeli military vehicles in several axes in the Gaza Strip, and targeting gatherings of soldiers over weeks of confrontations with the occupation during its ground incursion into the Gaza Strip areas before the temporary truce entered into force last Friday morning.
