According to the announcement, at the 173rd plenary meeting of the Bureau of International Expositions held on the same day, a total of three cities, Busan, South Korea, Rome, Italy and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, competed for the right to host the 3 World Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "World Expo"). Riyadh received 2030 votes in the first round of voting, with two-thirds or more of the votes needed to win the first round, and was successfully elected as the host city of Expo 119. Busan received 2030 votes and Roma received 29 votes.

According to the announcement, the Riyadh Expo will be held from October 2030, 10 to March 1, 2031, with the theme "The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow".

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Foreign Minister Al-Faisal expressed his gratitude to countries that have supported Riyadh's bid to host the 2030 World Expo. He said that the World Expo is "hosted by the world, for the world", and Saudi Arabia will unswervingly cooperate with all countries to host the World Expo.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia will provide participating countries with a package of integrated facilities with a total value of 3 million US dollars (about 48.24 billion yuan).
